How do I become a Member of the GG Chesapeake Community Online?

Members are people who have created an account in our Altar Live Community. You can sign up to our community during a live event or can be invited to join our community with an invitation email or link. You can sign in to our Community at any time, and when you join an event you can have access to all the interactive video-conference and chat engagement features.

Some of the cool things you'll be able to do are

• Pick a seat and watch with family and friends. As our livestream service plays and you can also see a set of "rows" where you can choose a seat. You can see who is already in that row, or you can join an empty one and invite someone to sit "with" me.  We can all see and talk with each other, and follow along with the livestream at the same time
   
• Talk like we're in church. When there are sermon discussion questions, or when it is time for passing the peace, we just "turn to our neighbor" and speak and respond. It's a lot like being in church. We can also arrive early and chat together.
   
• Rap - Coffee hour afterwards. When the church service ends, we all got moved into a social lobby. You can find friends and "grab a table" to chat face-to-face for a while.

How to Visit our Service with Altar Live as a Guest

First, go to our GG Chesapeake community page on Altar Live here:

Once there, select one of our upcoming events. 

As an anonymous user, you will be assigned a random pseudonym (i.e. Purple Turtle, Maroon Lemur, etc). You can easily access our service, watch and follow along without ever having to login or create an account. As an anonymous user, you can also chat with the Greeters, but you don't have to give any personal information. However, in order to participate in direct communication with individual members through chat, watch parties, and the social lobby, you will be asked to sign up. You can sign up with your email, Google or Facebook account. You sign up directly in the system without having to leave the platform. Once they create an account, you will always be logged in on that device when you join future events.
